PNL: 1

In this story 11 pilgrims were run over by a train. The incident happened on a railway bridge over Saryu River in the Uttar Pradesh state. Some of the pilgrims did not die by the train; some of them jumped into the river and couldn't swim so they drowned. The death tool of this incident is likely to rise because more than 300 pilgrims were on the tracks. It started by a group of pilgrims pulling the emergency stop lever to go grab buckets of water from the river. They were hit while coming back from getting the water. India has carries over 13 million passengers a day, but has the worst safety record.
